PayPal operates a dynamic business in Europe that addresses the payment needs of both merchants and consumers. With over 200 million accounts globally, PayPal is rapidly becoming the preferred method of making and accepting online payments and offline transactions through our successful prepaid card.

ROLE

The Developer Community Manager is responsible for sustaining an active and vibrant developer community across Europe both online and offline. The Community Manager will report to the Head of EU Platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. wwww.X.com EU local sites:

  • Work with marketing to optimize traffic generation to sites
  • Migration and rationalization of existing developer assets
  • Author blog posts, articles, podcasts, videos to communicate creative uses of PayPal X
  • Establish activity metrics & report on them weekly including recommendations
  • Identify and engage developer advocates and evangelists
  • Actively engage in new social media tools & best practices
  • Proactively take on project initiatives based on statistical data, customer feedback, product specifications and marketing objectives (e.g. redesign of templates, style guide, booking, or process improvements) as necessary, setting deliverables and deadlines, and driving projects to completion

2. Developer-facing content and programs:

  • Create presence for PPX wherever developers are (third party blogs, forums, FB, Twitter)
  • Managing external software vendors and providers, submitting bugs and feature requests
  • Consistently write content that meets defined project and objectives for a range of PayPal’s businesses across marketing, product, PR and customer service
  • Acts as a single point of contact for content projects and drive projects to completion with respect of UED standards and deadlines
  • Identify and analyze issues, patterns and trends in customer requests & product performance
  • Participate in professional networking by following the prominent bloggers and online writers & attending events
  • Proactively escalate issues, observations, opportunities, and insights to EU Platform leadership team

3. Manage and run local and international PayPal X events:

  • Support and coordinate PayPal X presence at tradeshows, conferences, meetups, etc
  • Create buzz around attendance through creative social media techniques
  • Manage events calendar and budget

SKILLS

  • >5 years professional online content experience and community management for a major consumer internet brand
  • Technical skills: HTML, CSS, Web Publishing, Content Management systems.
  • Usability Design lead approach and strong Information Architecture focus. Experience structuring information and content for ease of access in a compelling and engaging manner.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of leading web publishing, design tools, community tools, online forum and content management systems demonstrating a thorough understanding of the segment.
  • Interactive/web writing and editing background
  • Proven social media track record
  • Creative yet metrics-driven
  • Project Management skills, web projects experience and experience working with designers
  • Ability to develop and manage content that supports objectives with minimal direction

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong communication skills (portfolio to showcase), ability to communicate both with local players and the internal international environment
  • Must be a fast self-starter with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, strives in highly demanding, fast paced environments.
  • Graduate from top management or engineering school, MBA is a plus
  • Fluent in French and English, some knowledge of German helpful
  • A great sense of humor & fun to work with
